In an effort to raise money to build a hospital on Phillip Island, located near Melbourne, VIC, Australia, she swam around the island and through Bass Straight in March 2011. She used a custom-made shark cage to make the 66km swim. (heraldsun.com.au, 16 Mar 2011)
