PARALYMPIC COACH
He was a member of the United States wheelchair racing coaching team at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. (illinois.edu, 29 Aug 2012)
COURT CASE
He has criticised the United States Olympic Committee [USOC] for providing less direct financial assistance and other benefits to Paralympic athletes compared to other Olympians. In 2003 he and two other athletes sued USOC over the discrepancy in funding. After the US District Court and the US Court of Appeals dismissed the case, Iniguez took the grievance to the US Supreme Court which announced in October 2008 that it would not hear the appeal, supporting the earlier decisions. "We'll look at other ways to continue the fight, either through legislation or pressuring the USOC to keep moving forward. As a country, we should set the bar high." (nytimes.com, 06 Oct 2008)
FROM MEXICO TO THE UNITED STATES
Born in Mexico City, he moved to Aurora, IL, United States, with his parents at age nine. (usparalympics.org, 25 Feb 2010)
