He began swimming in 2009 in Moscow, Russian Federation.
Why this sport?
After surgery to remove a tumour in his leg, he experienced muscle atrophy and a loss of control to the limb. Doctors considered amputation, but then gave him the option of having electro-stimulation or taking up swimming. "Without thinking I began to swim."

Impairment
