BALANCING STUDIES AND SPORT
Alongside training and competition he is also studying for a law degree at the University of Eastern Finland, and says the university has helped him combine his studies with sport. "Combining sports and studying is not, in principle, the easiest combination, but it is important for me to acquire a profession during my sports career, to have something to fall back on in the future. At the university, my studies can be planned according to the competition schedule. If necessary, the professors have enabled me to take an exam at a separate time or are understanding should a compulsory lecture be missed." (uef.fi, 25 May 2020)
