When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up para-snowboarding in 2005 while he was in training to represent Canada in para-Nordic skiing at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver
Why this sport?
He had been a keen skier and snowboarder prior to his accident. In taking up the sport again, he wanted to prove to himself that he could still do it and also promote the sport as a viable option for people with an impairment.

Impairment
He broke his back in nine places while snowboarding in Whistler, BC, Canada, in December 2000. His L-1 vertebrae shattered on impact after falling 10 metres on to the top of his head, leaving him permanently paralysed below the waist.
