Impairment
He was born with severely underdeveloped arms as a result of Thalidomide, a drug responsible for many birth defects during the 1960s. He cannot carry ski poles, and operates his rifle with the aid of a special device that incorporates a string with a ring end which he uses with his mouth to fire. (abendblatt.de, 15 Mar 2010)
