He took up the sport at age 38 at his local club.
Why this sport?
He tried a number of Para sports following his accident, including basketball, athletics, swimming and table tennis. He eventually decided to focus on shooting because he enjoyed it the most and felt it gave him the best chance of being successful.

RETIREMENT PLANS
He plans to retire after competing at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, which will be his eighth appearance at the Games. "I didn't rest much. We had the opportunity to train on the shooting range, so I was preparing all the time [for the 2020 Games]. I'm in a good condition. I will put in an eighth Paralympic Games appearance. I will also finish my sporting career in Tokyo. I hope that my age will not be an obstacle, if you work with your heart, there is still something to be done."
