PARA ICE HOCKEY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
To facilitate the further development of young athletes, World Para Ice Hockey was thrilled to hold a youth development camp in Langenhagen, Germany from 29 October - 1 November 2015 with financial backing from the German Federal Ministry of the Interior.
The camp brought together 23 young Para ice hockey players with the youngest being only 14 years old for four full days of training alongside their peers from other countries. The camp consisted of beginners and intermediate-level players coming from nine different countries; Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Slovakia, and the USA.
World Para Ice Hockey worked together with coaches and trainers with strong background skills in development, coaching and performance pathways for this camp.
The youngsters experienced two on-ice sessions and two off-ice sessions per day. The off-ice sessions not only focused on strength and conditioning but also on education with regards to equipment, anti-doping and and classification.
