Tokyo, Japan, will host the Paralympic Games between 24 August - 5 September 2021. Swimming will be the second biggest sport in the Tokyo 2020 programme: The Olympic Aquatics Centre in Tatsumi-no-Mori Seaside Park will be the venue for 146 medal events with 620 participating athletes.

2019 World Championships Slot Allocation Method: |
The top two (2) ranked athletes at the 2019WPSWorld Championships in each of the Individual medal events on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Programme will each obtain one (1) qualification slot for their respective NPC. In the case that an athlete is ranked first or second in more than one medal event, he/she can only obtain one (1) qualification slot for his/her NPC. In the case that fewer slots are allocated through this method than available in the quota, WPS will allocate the remaining slots via the MQS Slot Allocation Method *These allocated slots will not change due to the postponement of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games |
MQS Slot Allocation Method: |
The period to achieve MQS performances for the MQS Allocation Method ended 31 January. Only athletes with an MQS who have not obtained a slot at the 2019 World Para Swimming World Championships were considered in the calculation of qualification slots through this method. *These allocated slots will not change due to the postponement of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games |
