As the International Federation for the sport, World Para Nordic Skiing is committed to increasing the number of athletes taking part in the sport.

In the following a variety of initiatives and information around the topic of development are listed. The page will be developed further over the next weeks and months to provide useful information to anybody interested and to be a source of useful tools for development in different areas.

Development Camps

Lillehammer Para Nordic skiing camp

The camp was supposed to take place in April 2020, but had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Alternatively the camp took place as an online version from 22 – 25 November 2020.  A physical camp is still to be planned for 2021.

The camp is intended for talented youngsters that aim for becoming Paralympians in the sports of Para cross country and Para biathlon in the next 10 years and their coaches.

Previous camps

NPC winter development training camp, Oberried 2018

In January 2018, 49 athletes, coaches and officials particpated in the camp in Oberried, Germany and learnt about the fundamentals of the sport of Para Nordic skiing. The camp provided a mix of theory and practical sessions and prepared some of the athletes to take part in the World Cup taking place immediately after the camp in Oberried.

SnowKidz and World Snow Day

Since August 2020 FIS and World Para Snow Sports cooperate to Bring Children to the Snow through the SnowKidz and World Snow Day programmes.

This is a great opportunity for development, exposure and inclusion. We would like to invite all Para organisations to take part in activities around the World Snow Day or SnowKidz.
