 Highlights

  • Further conflict escalation reported in AlBayda displacing over 1,500 families.

  • Fire incidents continue to be a prevalent concern in IDP sites with 67 incidents recorded.

  • The Humanitarian Country Team endorsed establishing a Technical Working on Housing Land and Property.

  • Shelter Cluster assisted 320,826 IDPs, returnees, and vulnerable host community members in the second quarter of 2021.

  • A contingency plan was developed by the Shelter Cluster, reflecting scenarios for conflict and natural disasters and estimating 91,200 HHs for the most likely scenario and 240,540 HHs in the worst-case scenario.

  • A flood alert system was developed and expected to boost the preparedness and predictability of the response mobilizing stocks and partners before the occurrence of events.

  • Challenges include shortage of funding and land issues and disputes.
