Despite a serious security crisis, the Central African Republic has developed in 2015, a draft policy on internal displacement entitled “Politique Nationale sur la Protection et l’Assistance aux Personnes Déplacées Internes en Centrafrique” as well as a draft IDP Law and an action plan of the national IDP committee (Comité National Permanent de Concertation et de Coordination pour la Gestion de la Protection des Droits des Personnes Déplacées à l’Intérieur du Territoire de la République Centrafricaine – CNPCCGPPDI). In addition, a “National Durable Solutions Strategy” was to be developed with the help of a consultant in 2017 (GCER 2017). These documents have yet been endorsed. However, using the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, stronger efforts are made, notably by UNHCR, to support the Government in the revision and the adoption of the IDP Law (GPC 2018).
