The Global Camp Management and Camp Coordination (CCCM) Cluster is pleased to invite you to the Annual Global CCCM Cluster Meeting, co-hosted by its lead agencies, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The annual meeting will be held online daily (afternoons Geneva time) from Monday 21 to Friday 25, June 2021 with a practitioner's day on Monday 28 June 2021.
As part of the 2021 CCCM Annual Meeting pre-launch event for the Minimum Standards in Camp Management, the Working Group on Camp Management Standards is putting out a call for video submissions related to the applicability and implementation of the standards at a response level. This is an opportunity to showcase the standards in practice and their contextualization in different camp or camp-like settings and how the standards are assisting CCCM
The Camp Management Standards Working Group is delighted to share the field-testing edition of the Minimum Standards for Camp Management.
Unlike previous retreats, this year the Global CCCM Meeting will be held entirely online due to COVID-19 pandemic and its related restrictions. However, the Global CCCM Cluster team is working hard to make this occasion highly interactive, engaging and field-driven, to bring the CCCM community together promoting an environment of knowledge and experience exchange.
Many humanitarian emergencies result in large-scale displacement, whether short-term or over many years. Although they should be seen as a last resort, camps and other communal settlements are often at the center of humanitarian response, as that is where those with the greatest needs are concentrated. Given this central focus for humanitarian action, what kind of benchmarks and standards can those managing camps and camp-like settings use as a reference point in their work?
