Central African fleeing post-election insecurity cross into Cameroon
New arrivals to the Cameroon border area have reached close to 5000, impacting over 4000 households. As the new arrivals are registered in Garoua-Boulai, UNHCR is building emergency shelters for them in nearby Gado camp, which is already home to 26,000 refugees. People fled the rebel presence in their villages as well as fear of a rebel advance towards Bangui.
