UN refugee chief calls for international support for Tanzania
UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi urged for greater support for Tanzania, which has hosted refugees for decades, focusing on priorities such as environmental protection and economic development. Grandi was on a four-day visit to Tanzania, his first as High Commissioner, in which he expressed gratitude to the government and its people for their hospitality. He also welcomed Tanzania's continued commitment to uphold international obligations to provide protection and assistance to refugees and asylum-seekers.
