FIELD SUPPORT

Field protection clusters support service delivery through coordination, provision of key support functions, needs assessment and gap analysis, planning and strategy development, advocacy, monitoring and reporting, contingency planning and preparedness, information management, and protection mainstreaming.

The GPC supports field protection clusters to ensure they have the capacity to fulfil these functions and responsibilities in a timely and comprehensive manner. To increase the effectiveness and relevance of its support to the field the GPC carries out the following activities:

  • Maintenance of the GPC Help Desk and Rapid Response facility;
  • Delivery of protection-related trainings and learning programmes;
  • Undertakes support missions as requested by field protection clusters;
  • Maintenance of the Protection Cluster Toolbox (see Tools and Guidance).

In this section, you will also find an overview of all protection clusters.
