5 | Short descriptions of the fields in the Data sheet can be found by selecting the fields in the header (Row 6). |
6 | The Statistics sheet updates automatically as data is entered in the Data sheet. |
7 | The Pivot sheet updates after refreshing data in the pivot wizard or upon opening of the file. |
8 | The statistics (counts) in Row 9 in the data sheet is updated automatically. |

13 | 1. Use the "Data" sheet for data entry of Control Sheet information. |
14 | 2. Start data entry from Row 12. One row represents one family. Always use tab to move between columns. |
15 | 3. Grey Columns: are for Registration Date, Name of Clerk, Location and Serial Number of the paper Control Sheet (if used). This information is found on top of the paper Control Sheet. Type in once and copy down for all households registered on one control sheet. |
16 | 4. Blue Columns: is for the household information. Household total is the total of the numbers typed in for the age/ gender breakdown. After data entry of each family, confirm that the total matches the written total on the hard copy Control Sheet. |
17 | 5. Special needs are recorded by putting a cross against the needs. The description of the needs will show when you are in the column. |
18 | 6. Remarks is a free text field used to record any comments on the household. |

27 | There are various types of validation rules in the Data sheet: |

29 | Date |
30 | Format is dd-mmm-yyyy, but can be entered in various ways. The date must be between 01-Jan-2005 and todays date. |
31 | If there are problems with the date format, make sure the settings of the computer is e.g. English (United Kingdom) or French (France). |
32 | Some problems can occur if the date format of the computer is set to e.g. English (American) with another date format. |
33 | This is changed under: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Regional and Language Options |

36 | If the same card number is entered more than once, the card numbers will be marked with red font. |
