How the project meets the GCR Objectives
Objective 1: Ease the pressures on host countries
- Contribute to burden and responsibility sharing: Sharing our expertise in food safety to a primary school in Bangkok that caters to young refugees from Cambodia.
- Have the potential to be adapted, replicated, and/or broadened in scale: To encourage private sector actors to act more actively in providing various types of training (e.g. food safety) to educate the refugees. This particular example also helps to demonstrate the variety of activities that can be undertaken by private sector entities at little cost to the benefit of many.
Objective 2: Enhance refugee self-reliance
- Respond to the needs of refugees and host communities, yielding sustained and positive benefits for them: The training not only provide a better knowledge on food safety for those refugee children to prevent possible illness but also help relieving the financial burden of the local government and NGOs.
- Be developed in partnership with other stakeholders, including refugees and host populations: Partnership with an NGO to support the better life for young refugees from Cambodia.
