About 2Baba

Announced as UNHCR, Goodwill Ambassador in June 2020, 2Baba (Innocent Ujah Idibia) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and entrepreneur. He has received several awards throughout his career both locally and internationally.

He is founder of The 2Baba Foundation, whose motto is ‘In Service of Humanity’. He is an active supporter of and donor to several humanitarian causes, including UNHCR programs.

2baba is also a High Level Influencer for UNHCR’s LuQuLuQu campaign. He strongly believes that Africans have the power to change the African refugee narrative: “DoitLuQuLuQu is not just a hashtag, it is a way of life.”

2Baba uses his platform both off and online to raise awareness about the plight of African refugees and why it is crucial, now more than ever, to get involved in supporting forcibly displaced people in Africa and worldwide.

In an effort to show solidarity and better understand the plight of refugees, 2Baba has visited two camps hosting more than 94,000 IDPs and refugee returnees in Ngala/Gamboru, near the border with Cameroon. In February, the musician and his 2Baba Foundation donated more than US$11,000 to UNHCR for IDPs and returnees and has embarked on a series of activities to further deepen his involvement with the cause. He has also committed to donate part of the proceeds from his song “Hold My Hand”, launched on World Refugee Day in 2017, to UNHCR’s LuQuLuQu campaign to support the affected people. Furthermore, 2baba and his Foundation held a concert in Abuja at the Hilton Hotel on 24 July 2017 as part of continuing efforts to support IDPs and returnees.
