In February 2020, TRS carried out awareness raising activities in 10 schools, reaching 5,193 students located in Uromi, Irrhua, Ewu, Ikpoba Okha, and Oredo Local Government Areas in Edo State, Nigeria.
The events were organized in collaboration with two returnee groups – Great Esan Returnee Organization (GERO) and Greater Returnees Foundation (GRF) in Edo Central and coordinated in Edo South with The Salvation Army (TSA) and Securing the Creative Goldmine in Youths Initiative (SCGYI). Included in the outreach activities was the newly appointed UNHCR High Profile Supporter Judith Audu, who gave motivational speeches on self-value, education, assertiveness, and the dangers of peer/parental pressure in relation to irregular movements.
