South Sudan signed the Kampala Convention in 2013, and after ratification in 2018 it was deposited in 2019 (UNHCR welcomes accession). The country has a draft IDP law, the “Protection and Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons Act, 2019”, which is currently being reviewed by Ministries of the government (South Sudan Act, 2019).
