On 22 October, the Global Protection Cluster (GPC) has organized in partnership with PHAP an online session on the future of humanitarian protection in the nexus. The event will discuss how humanitarian protection fits into the vision and concrete plans for humanitarian action in the coming decade. To help inform the webinar discussions, and provide your input on this topic to the GPC’s strategy development, PHAP & GPC have organized a brief online survey on this topic that is available on the event page.
You will hear from guest experts such as. Caroline Khoubesserian, Head of the Unit for the Protection of the Civilian Population, International Committee of the Red Cross, will share ICRC’s perspective on the nexus. Agnese Spiazzi Humanitarian, Development, Peace Coordination Advisor, UN Development Coordination Office, will discuss the vision for nexus reform, Natascha Hryckow, Chair of the Conflict Analysis Network will share experience on how protection is addressed in conflict analysis efforts and Ralf Mamiya from Geneva Center for Security Policy will speak to Peacekeeping perspective on protection and William Chemaly, Global Protection Cluster Coordinator, who will provide an overview of GPC’s current role and current issues identified with nexus reforms
