Galgaduud

Galgaduud is a region under the administration og Galmudug state. The district within this region include Cabudwaq, Cadaado, Dhuusamarreeb, El bur and El dheer.

An estimated 144,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) are living in IDP settlements in urban and peri-urban areas in Galgaduud region. Majority of these are protracted IDPs who were displaced due to drought and conflict between  2016 and  2017.

Since most IDPs do not intend to ruturn to place of origin, it is critical that a durable solution is provided to this population group in the area of displacement.
