Reception centres

IMPORTANT NOTICE


Under the regulations by authorities in BiH related to COVID-19, visits to and exits from Reception Centres in FBiH (Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina) are restricted. 

Please contact IOM or UNHCR for more information on the current restriction of movement in your area/location.

A number of different centres offering accommodation are available in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Each has limited space and its own admission criteria/eligibility and process and some require referral. These centres are often full.

Please note that every reception centre has specific rules which you must respect. This includes rules on the duration of your absence from the centre. Breaking these rules may mean you will be expelled from the centre and unable to return.

The Delijaš Asylum Centre, Delijaš, Trnovo

The Delijaš Asylum Centre is managed by the Sector for Asylum of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and provides a limited amount of accommodation and essential and basic services for asylum seekers.

In order to be granted entry to the Delijaš Asylum Centre you must first have a valid Attestation of Expressed Intent to Seek Asylum (the ‘white paper’) or a valid Asylum-Seeker’s Card (the ‘yellow card’) and a referral the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs. Without this, you will not be allowed to enter the Asylum Centre. You can ask UNHCR for more information.

The Salakovac Refugee Reception Centre, Salakovac, Mostar

The Salakovac Refugee Reception Centre is managed by the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and provides a limited amount of accommodation and essential and basic services for asylum seekers, refugees, and persons granted subsidiary protection.

In order to be granted entry to the Salakovac Refugee Reception centre you must first have a valid Attestation of Expressed Intent to Seek Asylum (the ‘white paper’) or a valid Asylum-Seeker’s Card (the ‘yellow card’) and a referral the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs. Without this, you will not be allowed to enter the Salakovac Refugee Reception Centre. You can ask UNHCR for more information.

Ušivak Temporary Reception Centre, Hadžići, Sarajevo Canton

The Ušivak Temporary Reception Centre, in Hadžići in Sarajevo Canton, is managed by the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs with centre management supported by IOM, and provides a limited amount of accommodation and essential and basic services to a mixed profile of residents, but predominantly single men.

Blažuj Temporary Reception Centre, Blažuj, Sarajevo Canton

The Blažuj Temporary Reception Centre, in Blažuj in Sarajevo Canton, is predominantly for single men. This centre is managed by the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs with centre management supported by IOM, and provides a limited amount of accommodation and essential and basic services.

Sedra Temporary Reception Centre, Cazin, Una-Sana Canton

The Sedra Temporary Reception Centre, in Cazin in Una-Sana Canton, is managed by IOM and provides a limited amount of accommodation and essential and basic services for vulnerable asylum seekers and migrants. This location is exclusively for families with children and vulnerable individuals.

In order to be granted entry to the Sedra Temporary Reception Centre you must be referred. Without referral, you will not be allowed to enter the Centre. You can ask IOM or UNHCR for more information.

The Miral Temporary Reception Centre, in Velika Kladuša in Una-Sana Canton, is managed by IOM and provides a limited amount of accommodation and essential and basic services a mixed profile of residents, but predominantly single men.

This location is currently not accepting families or unaccompanied and separated children.
