The Covid-19 pandemic has deeply affected life of refugees and asylum seekers in Algeria. Many were left with no job or house, struggling to find solutions and relying on UNHCR assistance. But refugees and asylum seekers are resilient: they have proved to have skills, talent, solidarity and strength as individuals and as a community.

UNHCR office in Algiers launches a photography contest to portray life of refugees and asylum seekers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The contest is organized in the framework of the virtual activities of World Refugee Day 2020, whose theme is “Everyone can make a difference, Every Action Counts”.
