Resources and Publications

UNHCR has a number of information resources for staff, as well as governments, aid partners, academics and the public.

Our Field Information and Coordination Support Section provides maps and statistics. An invaluable resource is Refworld, with its vast collection of documents used to help decide refugee status.

UNHCR's archives are useful for researching the history of our work and refugee issues. They are preserved in our headquarters in Geneva, where they are made available to researchers and the general public.

Also based in Geneva is our Evaluation Service which conducts crucial analysis and research.

Publications

Publications are an important way for UNHCR to spread awareness about refugees and other people of concern. They also allow us to report on operations, both globally and locally. We publish a wide range of materials for diverse audiences, ranging from basic documents such as the 1951 Refugee Convention to research and evaluation papers. Our worldwide operations are covered in the two flagship annual publications – the Global Appeal and Global Report.
