Amir, 22, and his father have mixed feelings about going back to Afghanistan. Amir was born and raised in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has great emotional attachment with Pakistan. His father Ahmed Shah, 75, lived half of his time in Pakistan but now wants to be buried in his hometown. Worked as marble machine operator in Haripur bazaar, Amir is optimistic that he will find proper work in Jalalabad and will utilize his skills. But his two-year-old daughter Asma has no idea what they are doing at the voluntary repatriation centre and where they are heading to. © UNHCR/Q.K.Afridi
For the last 15 years, Noordu Din, 28 was loading and unloading onion in vegetable market in Rawalpindi. He has mixed feeling about going back to his country. Before his departure at the VRC, one of his Pakistan friends calls him to know if all is well with Noordin. His Pakistani friends are missing him.
