Results/Impact | The exhibition recounts historical slavery suffered by people of African descent, as well as their emancipation. People from different backgrounds and ages attended, and helped contextualize the International Year for People of African Descent. Promotion of diversity and multiculturalism as well as dissemination of peace messages and information about the diaspora of people of African descent throughout history. Children, youth and adults attended the exhibition in various cantons in the province. |
Why is this considered a Good practice? | In the framework of the International Year for People of African Descent, the exhibition depicts the historical part of the process of the African people, and invites us not to forget to build a future of peace and freedom. It portrays people of African descent as fighters and rebel against slavery, raising their self-esteem and recognition to basic civil rights. It was possible to reach children and young people who are not related to the historical process, so that they resume the values of freedom, human dignity and peace. The exhibition promoted the diversity and multiculturalism in the province and the country in school centres chosen as pilot project. |
