Results/Impact | • Fines imposed by the National Institute of Migration on the people of concern to UNHCR adheres to international standards (is minimal). • Through legal reforms refugees were granted permanent residence (FM2). • The Ministry of Interior, through the Mexican Commission for Aid to Refugees (COMAR), assists the refugee population in the processing of their documents of legal residence. • The National Institute of Migration does not require refugee identity documents to carry out their immigration formalities (passport). • Through the 2009 legal reforms, the refugee population was exempt from taking an exam on knowledge of Mexican culture and history to apply for naturalization. |
