Hike for a cause with TrailAdventours

Join our upcoming hikes to step in solidarity with families displaced by conflict and violence.

People all over the world are coming together to #StepWithRefugees through the 2 Billion Kilometers to Safety Campaign, a global movement that invites everyone to walk, run, hike, cycle and swim in solidarity with the forcibly displaced. As of October 29, and through everyone’s collective efforts, we have covered over 23 million kilometers and counting.

Here in the Philippines, supporters have pledged over 120,000 kilometers since online sign-ups went live October of last year. Trail Adventours has supported this global movement not just by climbing Everest Base Camp but by dedicating one of their hikes every month to the cause. All proceeds from each benefit hike will go to UNHCR’s persons of concern, and those who join the hikes also get to log their kilometers and add to the global total.

With dramatic limestone formations and breathtaking views of The Sierra Madre, Mt. Hapunang-Banoi just may be the next mountain you're meant to conquer. If we're lucky, we might even catch a glimpse of eagles at the peak.

#StepWithRefugees

This campaign has helped change the way people see a simple hike, and build better understanding towards the plight of refugees all over the world. Angie Tan-Sarreal of Trail Adventours shares, “Imagine if you put yourself in other people’s shoes when you have to walk because it will literally save your life. Just being able to reframe hikes a little differently makes you not take for granted the comfort you are enjoying. It makes you not take for granted the fact that you’re able hike a mountain freely, and not because you have to cross borders to get somewhere safe.”
