Several Iraqi soldiers were killed and injured when a suicide bomber in a car struck a checkpoint near the Iraq-Saudi Arabia border.
The bomber detonated an explosives-rigged truck on December 12 at a border post near the town of Al-Nukhayb in Iraq's Anbar Province.
Reports said five or six soldiers were killed, including the commander of the local military base, and at least 10 others were injured.
The bomber, who was wearing an Iraqi Army uniform, was also killed.
The Islamic State (IS) group, which has carried out similar attacks in the area before, claimed responsibility.
IS fighters control significant territory in Anbar Province. Earlier this week the Iraqi military regained territory around the militant-held city of Ramadi, the provincial capital.
