Large numbers of antigovernment protesters are expected to take to the streets of Cairo to mark the second anniversary of the deaths of 42 people opposed to military rule.
The demonstrators on November 19 will also protest the military's toppling of former Islamist President Muhammad Morsi just one year after he took over from the generals who have dominated Egypt for decades.
One day earlier, hundreds of Egyptians gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square to begin observing the anniversary of the 2011 protests against the military.
Those demonstrators on November 18 chanted against the army and sprayed red paint on a monument Egypt's military-installed government is erecting in the square.
The government has presented the monument as a memorial to all those killed in Egypt's revolution since the outbreak of protests against former President Hosni Mubarak.
