BAMIYAN, Afghanistan – Afghan police in the central Afghan province of Bamiyan have arrested a man on charges of raping a teenage girl.
Bamiyan Governor Habiba Sarabi told RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan that security officials may also arrest the girl's mother and brother for performing an abortion on the girl.
The girl is reportedly in critical condition after what Sarabi called "unprofessional surgery at home."
