At least four people were killed, including a police officer, in a suicide attack on a Baghdad park early on May 24, local media and Iraqi security services said.

Another 15 people were injured in the blast, which took place in the northwest district of al-Shula, they said.

Iraqi police stopped the suicide bomber from entering Saqlawiyah park, but he blew himself up just outside, the Al-Sumaria broadcaster reported, quoting a security source.

During the holy fasting month of Ramadan, people often stay up late and go to restaurants for "sohor," a predawn meal, before they fast from sunrise to sunset.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
