The following information was provided by an official at the Liberian embassy in Washington, DC (12 May 1995). Everyone receiving permanent resident status in Liberia is given their permit in the form of a booklet which confirms that the holder is a permanent resident of Liberia.
A permanent resident could be asked to leave the country because of criminal activity, fraudulent business dealings with the government, tax evasion or any subversive activity directed against the government.
A holder of a valid permit to re-enter Liberia would be allowed into the country today. The person would need a passport and a visa, if they did not already have permanent resident status. Usually a person receives an entry and exit stamp in his or her passport when arriving in and leaving Liberia.
