Zimbabwe: 1. Please provide an update on the latest situation in Zimbabwe in respect to the treatment of MDC members and supporters by the ruling ZANU PF party members and militia. 2. Please provide background information on the Border Gezi and in particular its level of recruitment activity amongst school leavers in 2007, and its level of activity now. 3. Is there any information that doctors in Zimbabwe are afraid to treat MDC supporters? 4. Is there any information to support, or to rebut, the claim that family members would be punished for the political crimes of MDC activists whom the ZANU PF and militia accuse of being traitors to Zimbabwe? 5. Is there any information to suggest that returnees to Zimbabwe from Australia would be considered as people who have sent money to the MDC to continue its anti-government activities? 6. Is there any information that the ZANU PF would make accusations that family members of MDC activists came to Australia to receive military training? 7. Please provide information on whether ZANU PF target people who have left Zimbabwe for long periods of time and they consider such people traitors

China: 1. Is there a movement known as the Xinjiang Independence Movement operating in China today? If so, please provide full details of the movement, its operations and major participants? 2. How does the Chinese government treat members of this Xinjiang Independence Movement? 3. Is there any evidence to suggest that business associates of members of such a movement may be imputed with an opinion supportive of this movement and, if so, how are such business associates treated in China? 4. Vietnam: 1. Are you aware of any monitoring activity by Vietnamese Embassies and Consulates of expatriate Vietnamese and Vietnamese citizens travelling or residing abroad? 2. How are Vietnamese citizens who have been involved in anti-regime activity overseas and who have been critical of the Vietnamese regime treated on return by the Government? Does this also apply to failed asylum seekers, and would the authorities? reaction be any different in these circumstances? 3. Are you aware of any reports of prosecution of returned asylum seekers by the Vietnamese authorities on the grounds that they sought asylum in Australia? 4. What is the current level of press censorship and freedom of speech in Vietnam? 5. What is the nature of the relationship between the press and Government in Vietnam? 6. How are people who have criticised the regime (for example, via internet or distribution of pamphlets) or have expressed anti-regime political views in Vietnam treated by the Government? 7. How are religious group leaders, who are perceived by the authorities as having become too political, treated by the authorities, e.g. Buddhist leaders, or other religious group leaders e.g. Protestant groups or those in so-called "home-based religions"? 8. Do local authorities at times act arbitrarily at the local level regardless of directions from the central authority?
