United Kingdom: Court of Appeal (England and Wales)

The Court of Appeal consists of two Divisions: the Civil Division hears appeals from the High Court and from the County Courts (note that the County Court appeals go direct to the Court of Appeal); the Criminal Division hears appeals from the Crown Court. On appeal from the High Court, Administrative Court: R (on the application of Min Min and Zahra Ali Omar) v. Secretary of State for the Home Department [2008] EWHC 1604 (Admin); and Tekle v. Secretary of State for the Home Department [2008] EWHC 3064 (Admin). The judgment was subsequently appealed before the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom: [2010] UKSC 36.
