The execution of a juvenile Kurdish offender Saman Naseem, who was due to be hanged in Iran on the morning of February 19, has reportedly not been carried out on schedule.
The reason was not immediately clear, nor was it clear if Nassem would be executed at a later date.
The development follows international appeals to Iran to halt the planned execution of the 22-year-old Naseem, who was sentenced to death on charges filed against him when he was 17 years old.
Naseem was convicted of being a member of the rebel Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) and charges that he took part in armed confrontations against Iranian security forces.
His death sentence was issued in 2013 after he had allegedly been tortured.
The United Nations and international human rights groups have called on Iran to refrain from executing Nassem.
