Information on a group called the Cossacks of Kuban could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. However, there are three references to similarly worded groups; it is unclear whether these groups may also be known as the "Cossacks of Kuban."

For a reference to the Cossack Union of Kuban, please consult the third paragraph of page 107 of the Uncaptive Minds attachment of Winter-Spring 1994. For information on a group called the Kuban Council of the Cossacks, please consult the last paragraph of page 29, and following, of the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) attachment of 22 April 1994; the introduction on page 28 may also be of interest. For a reference to the All-Kuban Cossack Host, please consult the fifth paragraph on the second page of the 2 June 1995 Izvestia attachment.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
