Bangladesh: 1. Were there any laws for formal adoption in Bangladesh in 1973? 2. RRT research response BGD31681 indicates that the existing adoption laws were repealed in 1982 and were not replaced. This indicates that there may have been formal laws in place before then. What were these laws and what steps did the parties need to take to have a valid adoption? 3. If there was no formal adoption in 1973, would customary adoption have allowed for paternal uncles to adopt their deceased brother's children? 4.
