Comments This paper replaces the 2007 UNHCR Eligibility Guidelines for Assessing the International Protection Needs of Iraqi Asylum-Seekers and its Addendum, issued in August and December 2007 respectively. These documents, along with UNHCR's Country of Origin Information Iraq of October 2005, can still be consulted for additional country of origin information on, inter alia, political, security and human developments in Iraq, as well as detailed information on the profile of groups at risks. However, in terms of UNHCR's policy positions, they are all hereby superseded. The validity of these Guidelines has been confirmed by the Note on the Continued Applicability of the April 2009 UNHCR Eligibility Guidelines for Assessing the International Protection Needs of Iraqi Asylum-Seekers issued on 28 July 2010. The issuance of revised guidance is pending further developments in Iraq.
