日本政府による無償資金協力：「ベネズエラ難民・移民人道支援計画」（UNHCR連携）

日本政府は、ベネズエラから逃れてくる難民・移民などに対して、UNHCRを通じて約360万ドル（4億1,700万円）の無償資金協力の実施を決定しました。

昨今のベネズエラの経済・社会情勢の悪化により、2019年2月までに340万人の難民・移民がブラジルをはじめとした周辺国へ流入しています。今回の無償資金協力によって、難民・移民の登録、保健医療、児童保護、社会心理的支援などの分野で人道支援が実施されます。

また、ベネズエラからの難民・移民のみならず、ブラジルの受け入れコミュニティへも支援を提供することで、地域の安定化への貢献を目指していきます。

UNHCRは今後もIOM、PAHO/WHO、UNICEF、国連常駐調整官事務所と連携し、この協力に取り組んでまいります。

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, welcomes the Government of Japan’s funding contribution of US$ 3.6 million under its Grant Aid scheme to assist refugees and migrants from Venezuela.  UNHCR will implement humanitarian assistance in collaboration with IOM, PAHO/WHO, UNICEF and the Resident Coordinator’s Office.

Due to the deteriorated economy and social conditions in Venezuela, more than 3.4 million refugees and migrants fled from Venezuela to neighboring countries such as Brazil.  Japan’s support will enable UNHCR and UN agencies to deliver humanitarian activities including registration, documentation, health, child protection and psyco-social support, not only to refugees and migrants but also to local host communities in Brazil.  The assistance is expected to contribute to the stabilization of the region.
