UNHCR relies almost entirely on voluntary contributions from governments, UN and pooled funding mechanisms, intergovernmental institutions and the private sector. We work all year round to raise funds for those we serve and address new emergencies as they occur. We would like to thank our donors for enabling us to provide protection and assistance to persons fleeing violence and persecution.
In a complex environment with fast shifting needs and priorities, we depend on donors to provide contributions that can be allocated as flexibly as possible. These allow us to direct funds where they are most needed, providing protection, shelter, water, health, education and other essentials to refugees, stateless persons, asylum-seekers and host communities.
