Will help Yemeni and Somali refugees break their fast this Ramadan?

Hundreds of thousands of families in Yemen and Somalia face a growing risk of starvation due to the disastrous combination of drought and entrenched conflict across the region.

Millions of people will observe Ramadan in unbearable circumstances, unable to break their fasts. Parents are living in distress, unable to save their children from hunger. Thousands are walking barefoot for hundreds of miles in order to provide their children with the chance of survival.

Mohammed fled bombing and famine in Hajjah, Yemen with his four remaining children after one of his sons died. “My son died from malnutrition. We just don’t have enough to eat. Sometimes we have food and sometimes we don’t. We are very poor, we have no means to support ourselves.”

UNHCR is scaling up efforts to continue to deliver emergency nutrition, medical aid, clean water and protection to displaced families in the worst affected areas—but we can’t do this without your support.

In all, more than 20 million people in Nigeria, South Sudan, Somalia and Yemen are experiencing famine or are at risk of famine and starvation.

Children and families need your help to survive another day! Please dedicate your sadaqah now to feed the hungry this Ramadan.
