UNHCR has also included its main programmes and projects in the UN Partnership Framework (UNPF), the common strategic partnership framework between the Government of Ukraine and the UN System for the period of 2018-2022. Together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), UNHCR is co-chairing Pillar 4 of the UNPF, dealing with Human security, social cohesion and recovery with a particular focus on Eastern Ukraine. To ensure that UNHCR’s humanitarian activities complement recovery and development efforts eastern Ukraine, UNHCR Ukraine is working with three development agencies (Food and Agriculture Organization; International Labour Organization; and World Health Organization) on the establishment of an area-based recovery programme in government-controlled Donetsk oblast.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’s promise to “leave no one behind” is pivotal for the inclusion of refugees, IDPs and stateless persons in regular development planning. In this connection, UNHCR Ukraine is supporting the efforts of the UNCT to advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets by Ukraine.
