Most of the on this page listed services are provided by the General Services Section (GSS). GSS is responsible for management and coordination of security services and building and facilities management at Geneva Headquarters, as well as for the administration of official travel originating from Headquarters. GSS is part of the Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM) and is overseen by the Deputy Director (Finance) of DFAM.

The Geneva HQ Security Team – A uniformed team of Security Officers from the UNOG Safety and Security Service (SSS) is deployed to UNHCR HQ in Geneva. Since 2010, a UNHCR Security Unit, consisting of a Snr. Security Officer as well as Admin Assistant, attached to the General Services Section (GSS/DFAM) coordinate security at HQ, working together with the SSS-Team on site and in cooperation with colleagues at the Palais. The highly skilled team of SSS security officers who come from diverse backgrounds are here to protect and serve. Their specialised training includes fire prevention, first aid, self-defence, firearms, personal protection, identification, use of x-ray scanners, metal detectors, to name just a few. Present 24 hours a day, the team ensures that UNHCR HQ and thereby worldwide operations are enabled at all times.

The Geneva HQ Building Management Unit Team – A polyvalent team will take care of all the facilities concerning the Montbrillant Building (MBT) and its operations.
By contacting our mailbox you can request support to move from one desk to another, to obtain necessary equipment for your workstation and office and to organize a transport or a shipment. Additionally you can issue requests to store equipment and publications and request the creation, modification or deletion of your telephone line.
Through this mailbox you will be able to obtain information about our excellent building cleaning service and to access our space planning service.
