LAS is made up of a team of specialized lawyers who provide authoritative, pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice with the goal of safeguarding compliance and accountability, mitigating the organization’s exposure to legal and financial risks and supporting effective and efficient UNHCR operations. LAS provides advice to the Executive Office and to functional UNHCR units at headquarters and in the field.
