Take action to bring refugee families together

Right now in the UK, refugees who have been torn apart from their families continue to be separated from the people they love because of  restrictive rules.

Together we can change this.

On 16 March ask your MP to turn up to Parliament, to vote to change the unfair rules that keep refugees in the UK apart from their families

About the #FamiliesTogether campaign

UNHCR has come together alongside a coalition of organisations to support a Refugee Family Reunion Bill in the House of Commons, which would change the rules that currently restrict refugees from reuniting with their loved ones.

The Bill calls for:

  • Child refugees in the UK having the right to sponsor their close family so they can rebuild their lives together and help them integrate in their new community
  • An expansion of who qualifies as family so that young people who have turned 18 and elderly parents can live in safety with their families in the UK
  • The reintroduction of legal aid so refugees who have lost everything have the support they need to afford and navigate the complicated process of being reunited with their families.

In order for the Bill to suceed we need at least 100 MPs to attend and vote on 16th March.

How can I help?

You can help make this a possibility.

Ask your MP to attend and vote in support of the Bill.

This will help the Bill progress through Parliament, and eventually bring lasting change to the UK rules on refugee family reunion.
