Rohingya refugees need durable solutions: UN refugee chief
Though Rohingya refugees are forced to endure harsh conditions and perilous monsoon rains in Bangladesh, their needs go beyond what emergency aid can provide. This is the message that the UN secretary-general, the president of the World Bank and UN refugee chief Filippo Grandi delivered in an eye-opening visit to Bangladesh designed to spotlight the need for longer-term planning and investment in critical sectors like health care and education to help nearly one million Rohingya refugees now in the country.
