Emergency Response
UNHCR is often faced with emergencies that force thousands—sometimes millions—of people to flee their homes. During these crises, we are able to respond in as little as 48 hours, rushing in humanitarian aid and expert response teams to lead efforts and save lives.
Rebuilding Lives
Our goal is to provide lasting solutions for the people we assist. We aim to help refugees return home whenever possible, but when war and violence drag on, we provide the help they need—like education, psychological counselling and livelihood support—to rebuild their lives in a new home.
